Protective Clothing & Gloves
Chemical Protective Clothing and Chemical Protective Gloves
ICS Laboratories tests protective clothing and hand protection that is designed to protect against a variety of hazards and intended for wide ranging applications, end users and commercial markets. Our analytical chemists lend years of training and experience to the assessment of the resistance of clothing and gloves against permeation and penetration by chemical and biological hazards. ICS assesses chemical protective clothing and gloves to the following North American, European and International standards:
- ASTM F739 Standard Test Method for Resistance of Protective Clothing Materials to Permeation by Liquids or Gases Under Conditions of Continuous Contact
- ASTM F903 Standard Test Method for Resistance of Materials Used in Protective Clothing to Penetration by Liquids
- ASTM F1383 Standard Test Method for Resistance of Protective Clothing Materials to Permeation by Liquids or Gases Under Conditions of Intermittent Contact
- ASTM F1670 Standard Test Method for Resistance of Materials Used in Protective Clothing to Penetration by Synthetic Blood
- NFPA 1991 Standard on Vapor-Protective Ensembles for Hazardous Materials Emergencies
- NFPA 1994-07 Protective Ensembles for First Responders to CBRN Terrorism Incidents – Chemical Permeation Resistance Test
- EN 16523-1 Determination of Material Resistance to Permeation by Chemicals
- ISO 6539 Protective Clothing – Protection Against Chemicals – Determination of Resistance of Protective Clothing Materials to Permeation by Liquids and Gases.
Mechanical Hand Protection
In addition to the evaluation the chemical protective qualities of safety clothing and gloves, ICS Laboratories also performs tests that evaluate the impact protection performance of safety gloves. ICS evaluates hand protection devices to the following North American and European standards:
- ANSI/ISEA 138
- EN 388 §§ 4.2.2. & 6.6
