“National Framework for Personal Protective Equipment Conformity Assessment Infrastructure”

The National Institute for Occupational Health and Safety (NIOSH) has published a document outlining the PPE conformity assessment infrastructure in the United States, an effort made to further its goal of preventing workplace illnesses and injuries.   The “Framework” aims to enhance the development of CA practices for personal protective equipment used in occupational settings.  Generally, the document adopts a risk-based approach to managing PPE, which was advocated in reports issued by the Institute of Medicine in 2008 and 2011. ICS Laboratories is recognized as a contributor to the development of this publication, which can be accessed by the public here: https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/docs/2018-102/pdfs/2018-102.pdf
